Hopefully the folks fleeing will learn their lesson and vote for Trump.

Nope. I have friends leaving these states. There is such major disconnect between their reality of why their hometown turned to shit vs their voting habits. I wish I could say they learned after moving, but they think that the reason their hometown went to shit was because of some abstract and unexplainable reason that is too complicated to diagnose.

Devaluing the property then buying it up isn’t the same game in a world with work from home and dead sports leagues.

Even transport convoy crews that haul units from site to sites needed do not want to haul units back up into that cesspool.

Eh, I can’t speak for all of them but there are A LOT of people that know very vividly why they’re moving and have zero desire to be close to any of it again. That’s my understanding of how things were during the original white flight in the ‘60s. It was considered very verboten to talk about openly or in public but every person had the exact same reason and they all knew what it was. If you’re getting out you’re getting out because you don’t like what you see around you. Importing those same things to the new place you’re moving to is pretty counterintuitive.
