Poll watching is great, but we need to be a part of CHECKING VOTERS IN, CHECKING IDs, CONFIRMING SIGNATURES, COUNTING VOTES, RUNNING BALLOTS, VALIDATING RESULTS etc. Many positions are paid.

I didn’t get picked for my county this year. All spots were filled. BUT in my state I can work another county’s polls. I just have to be registered to vote in the state.

I don’t think so. I think there are a lot of unemployed people in my county who are taking any job to make a few bucks.

Rules are laid out at the initial meeting. The main thing is when the polls are about to close, watch for poll workers marking names off the list and filling in ballots for those that didnt show up to vote.
If you will notice, the inner cities always report higher than normal turnout and they take a long time to get results in.
Its because they fill in ballots at the end of the day.
We havent been allowed to watch the polls for many years so they have gotten away with it but now we can be there.
