Oven roasted is the best option, imo; try em with added fennel seed!

Took the idea from when we 1.5" slice, and then roast cabbage; almost the same method, bit longer cook.

That sounds incredible

With all these recipes if we had our American version of riot kitchen it would be steak, sprouts, and goya all day with a dash of harvested lib tear salt to bring out all those good flavors.

xtra mile: + a little bourbon and honey

Honey works great to tame the bitterness that some don’t like. Maple syrup also works well. I haven’t tried the bourbon but it sounds great.

I've done this method along with Par-boiling Blanching prior to coating and baking. The Par-boil blanching gets rid of a lot of the bitterness and greens them up nicely.

Can also slice in 1/2 and sauté in a skillet with Butter and Garlic.

Oh! You are correct on blanching. That's what I did. Used the wrong term. Salt boil for 2-3 min then chill in ice water.

Cooked with bacon, shallots, & a squeeze of lemon, served with red, skin-on, mashed potatoes, and a big, juicy, medium-rare steak.

Sautee halved Brussels sprouts with butter and oil til just browned, add some minced or sliced garlic with 30 seconds left. Add salt, 1/4 inch of chicken stock, and sprinkle with Italian seasoning. Braise in 400 degree oven til tender- around 20 minutes.

DoesItWorkAlready 2 points ago +2 / -0

Do not steam or boil. Bletch.

Fry, bake, or grill, thems the choices with brussel sprouts.

Most people who hate them tried them steamed or boiled. I quite understand their antipathy

Dusted with dried chipotle and habañero powder in a balsamic reduction sauce.

Roast them in a cast iron skillet with sweet cream butter at 375 until tender.

Roast em!

Foil a sheet pan, destem and vertically half sprouts, add olive oil, stir to coat. Add salt, fresh ground black pepper, fennel seeds if you're extra.

Lawry's or Chacherre's if you're lazy.

@ 400 degrees, 20~ minutes, stir halfway through. Those loose and extra crispy single leaves are just a tasty silver lining; enjoy!
