A person's hands are a bigger problem, because as you said they're touching everything. They think blocking their mouth is going to solve everything, when in reality germs are being spread by their hands instead!

Yep, in this case gloves are 100.1% useless and very likely much worse. If I had to wear gloves I'm not washing my hands and I'm not changing gloves every time I touch something. WuFlu is not absorbed through the skin so gloves are only a nuisance.
I just ask "if the masks are effective, why are they not treated as a Biohazard after 1 use?"
