And I think the Kyle had better reflexes and instincts than a lot of people"
When he shoots one arm he scootches around swiveling on his butt to stay lined up with the attacker who keeps coming forward to Kyle's left before running away. He is trying to keep "squared" up to the threat.
I'm a former athlete and he is a natural and must have trained a lot too. Psychologically too stay so cool and remember his fundamentals in the moment is special his heart must have been racing. I think that is why we are all so stoked by it.
But as I said I am athlete and no gun or war expert other than youtube documentaries.
I was talking about this to some of my old army buddies. We were all infantry and did three tours; two to afghan, one to Iraq. We all saw a lot of combat during that time and no amount of training can prepare you for what Kyle went through. A lot of veterans of GWOT are very familiar with the term "tactical restraint" or "tactical patience" where you absolutely HAVE to be aware of everything around you lest you shoot a civilian and go to Leavenworth for 30 years breaking big rocks into little rocks. Scary shit. Good on Kyle for staying calm, cool, and collected. He exercised extreme restraint and discipline.

He took four. The headshot as just a graze.
