Same here. I was knee deep in a global warming freak out back in 2016. I was certain that Hillary had to win if we were going to “beat” global warming. I Had a slight red pill during all that when I noticed they were trying to tie every single event to Global Warming™️ and at the same time telling everyone that we had to elect Hillary if we wanted this to stop. But then Trump got elected.
For the first several months after the election I was a mess. Depressed, anxious and worried. It’s so weird. I never trusted the media but somehow I got caught up on Reddit and thought it was different. I had that feeling that something was off but I kept my head buried.
I saw things here and there that I knew were bullshit hit pieces, but it wasn’t until I was on Anthony Watts’ blog, wattsupwiththat.com that something he posted hit me.
He posted an article with Al Gore from 2000 after the election where Gore stated, and I’m paraphrasing here, that he could have started a guerilla media campaign to discredit Bush during his first term, but decided the country needed to be brought to together and chose to let it go.
This was what made it all click. The news stories started smelling like shit and something just came over me. Maybe two days later was the infamous “Trump over feeds Japanese Koi” story dropped and that was it. I officially swallowed the red pill and never looked back. That was when I fully realized there was an active media smear campaign.
Sorry for the lengthy response, but I like to see others red pill stories so maybe someone will like mine.
