I'd still argue that using google for your search engine gives them your personal identifier data so they can keep that profile of you. DDG or StartPage anonymize any personal attributes before sending the search query into Google.
Probably true for most people. This is my bread and butter, I know how to muddy up anything that comes out of the IPs, browsers, accounts, etc. I'm using.
Also I agree with Yandex giving the best results of the bunch. So I use it or startpage for most things, sometimes DDG, for certain specific technical things, Google gives the best results... :-(
To protect from tracking you can just use made up IDs and use TOR, it'll work for the most things. You just have to be disciplined enough to never use those IDs via your own network, always via a proxy.
My methods, unfortunately, are tailored for my tasks and involve things I can't really share, although, we are working on an appliance that should solve some of these problems. There are some devices out there already that should be more than enough for most people, something that you could use as a hot spot and be protected at all times. We really all should be doing this.

Can you share your methods with me? I use incognito and a VPN but Google very well may be smarter than me.

You seem to know based purely on your assumption a lot about how I operate, which is indicative of the Dunning-Kruger effect sufferer.
It does if you use it right.
Get rid of your assumptive attitude and maybe we'll talk.
