This is what the Afghan government says about Taliban. They say none of these Taliban are Afghan, they're all Pakistani or chechnyan. It doesn't make any difference.
It does because it shows that they aren't big enough to have a local presence in each of these cities. They bus them around and pay them to agitate. It shows that it's astroturfing and not organic. I get what you're saying, they are still a threat and still need to be dealt with, but the good news is they aren't as big and widespread as they would like you to believe.
Does proof that they're crossing state lines mean that there's justification for the feds to get involved? Then they won't just be immediately released by corrupt DAs who won't charge them.
