This is the importance of getting to know your neighbors and local community. If they come to your town, make sure you AND YOUR NEIGHBORS have a plan; get each other's cell phones, stay in communication.

If the protesters are loud, noisy, and just an irritant: record them from a safe distance. If they become unruly, violent, and destructive: engage from the shadows. They will scatter like roaches the before the brass hits the ground.
