The optimist in me thinks that LE is watching, listening, keeping track of offenders, tracking communications, following the money etc. The pessimist in me thinks insurrection will not go down until after the election.
They are using tactics that were used in Ukraine. As the election grows closer, they will likely begin attacking their own, that is a known tactic of their allies.
NYPD has the second greatest counter terrorism intelligence center in the country. Every region has a fusion center and with proper clearances law enforcement has access. They are very organized.
I remember when DHS early mission was to fund Fusion Centers all over the country. There's one not too far from me now, all those cops sure look funny fused together like that

The guy that was interviewed all but confirmed that he works for law enforcement. He mentioned that he spent the past few months gathering evidence, mostly pulling in livestreams from protesters.
