The answer is in the very words of your question: MAGA went to portland to -> support Trump <-.

I suspect that is part of it.

The day after Kyle stood up for himself and offed the crats in Kenosha, the crat Kenosha leaders changed their policy of refusing national gaurd assistance.

Maybe MAGA went to portland to try changing crat minds in the same way amongst portland's leadership.

Why shouldn’t they? This is America. There are no “no-go-zones” here. That was a peaceful protest.

Evil must be opposed.

It didn’t look like much of a clash, more like opportunistic killing.

You're making a huge assumption that the victim didn't live in Portland. Wait for more information.

More than 150,000 Portland & Metro voters voted for Trump in 2016. A huge share of all Oregon's Republicans actually live in or near Portland- those "red counties" are great- I grew up in one myself. But they often have less than 5,000 voters.

There are a ton of us Portland's West side (where the shooting happened). Portland's East side is the true Leftist stronghold. They can't afford to live on the West side.
