There is not widespread insurrection yet, some trustfarians in blue cities wilding out does not equal a full-on insurrection and using the act now would not be commensurate
Because at the time most of the country supported it. Were the insurrection act activated today I'd estimate 60% of people would oppose it. It needs to get worse before it can be made better.

So how do we know when the insurrection is "widespread"? It was invoked in the Rodney King riots, if it was justified then why not now?
