I’d never shot a .17 until my adult son let me shoot his squirrel rifle. Those things CRACK!!!

Trying to hit something with a bb at 300m is like throwing a free throw.

I've got a Savage 17 hmr with a sweet 17 on it! I love it, super accurate and it's my "Hey ya'll watch this" gun, that and my tannerite gun.

OK, bro. I'm a spelling/grammar pedant when I see it in memes, but not submission titles. But I ain you, yo.

2
LugNuts 2 points ago +2 / -0

No, it is funny, that's why I posted. I know titles can't be corrected, but it's a great typo.

Love .17. So damn fast and accurate. Looks like a Marlin? I have one but didn’t get that beautiful laminate stock. I put a prostaff 4 on it, sick distance and accuracy. I opted for the layered skull design instead, since I was gonna be sending critters to their grave lol

They are Savage Arms, running BSA Sweet 17s. I got the blued one for my step father for his birthday over 10 years ago, we took many a prairie dog with them. When he passed away my mom gave it back to me, still can’t bring myself to shoot it yet.

I said marlin I meant savage, I’m a no remembering old guy lol That’s a nice memory you have of him. Loved hunting with my dad. Glad y’all had that time together. Your mom knew he and it was special to you. When the day comes to shoot it, you’ll know and you’ll feel good about it. Be well, fren.

I have no need for anything in .17 but I've always wanted one anyway. Seems like an excellent little plinker.

Why is .17 HMR significantly more expensive than .22 LR?

2
NdNcenti [S] 2 points ago +2 / -0

It’s comparable in price to 22mag because it’s a necked down 22mag same oal. The 17hm2 is a necked down 22lr same oal but it’s not as popular as the 17hmr and cost way more than 22lr
