The Mayflower Compact was studied in depth in school when I was there. Probably 4th grade. Yes, it was communism pre-Marx. Yes it resulted in mass starvation and death. Yes it was tried on this continent under the most ideal circumstances for it to succeed.
All was fixed by merely defending property rights.

Thank God they ditched communism. And thank God for property rights, the rule of law, and capitalism.
