This post is Michigan-specific but it's likely similar in other states--contact your local election official to confirm. In Michigan this is your city or township clerk.

Once absentee ballots are printed and available (should be around the last week of September), you can vote absentee -- without using the USPS at all, which you should never do unless you have no other option.

Just visit your city or township clerk's office. Ask for an absentee ballot application. They can print it on the spot. Fill it out and hand it to them, and ask for your ballot. They will give you the ballot and an envelope. You complete the ballot and drop it into a ballot box they should have right there at the office.

That's all it takes. No need to use USPS. You wouldn't mail cash -- why would you mail your ballot, to a location less than six miles from your house?

This is the best way to vote, period. I've voted this way for years (I work in politics so I'm always busy on Election Day). No waiting in lines at the polls. No relying on the mail. You deliver the ballot right to the clerk's office. There's nothing safer.

Spread the word to all Trump voters you know!
