I decided I was for Trump before I walked away, if I'm being totally honest.
I refused to vote for Hitlery because I was friends with Sean Smith. I've had many conversations with vets and current military members about what happened in Benghazi. I didn't like what I heard, and no one told me anything that made me feel like she wasn't responsible for Sean's murder. 9/11 has a totally different meaning to me than it does for most people.
What made me walk away entirely? Social media, if I'm honest. Not because there was an alternate viewpoint. I literally just got tired of being told I'm evil for things I can't change, despite the fact that I was literally on their side. Like, when I was in college, I made an active effort to turn conservatives into socialists, that's how on their side I was. I hated Republicans, I hated conservatives, but it's not a hard choice to make when your "friends" tell you that you're evil, and the other side is at least willing to have a conversation about it.
Hopes for the Democrat party? At this point, with all the dishonesty, gaslighting and hate... Grab your torch and pitchfork, it's time to party like it's 1776.
Hopes for the U.S? 4 more years, bald eagles, and AR-15s for everyone.
Edit: Saw the question in the comment. I've only ever been called a racist or homophobe by people on the left. I personally find it hilarious (most of my conservative friends do too). Given the choice between living next to a black, gay conservative, and a white, straight liberal... I'm going to have a new gay black friend every single time.
Seriously though, at this point. If I had a time machine. First thing I'd do is go back in time and get rid of the Marx and Engels problem once and for all.
The Nick Sandmann coverage. A 16 year old kid villified on every news outlet. Saw the photo everywhere and my cousin forced me to watch a Tim Pool video covering not just the 10 second clip but the whole video footage.
That led to me using independent youtubers and non mainstream news sources to get information and got me to pay attention. When that happened my support for Trump followed. I will not vote for a democrat ever again as long as they pander to identity politics and give socialism, marxism , or whatever they want to call it a platform.
Born and raised liberal, just about 50 years. Ultra-liberal state, ultra-liberal city. Every one I know is liberal. Friends, family, neighbors.
About 2017 I realized (well, my wife actually) that our 401K was performing quite well. My wife started to take a greater interest in it all (we want to retire at some point ffs). We quickly realized how to match up how we were financially (stability) with the current political environment, we realized we weren't liberal. At all. We realized that Trump was Boss Hog.
And now, holy fuck. We are on the right side of history.
It's very simple. Donald Trump was never a racist until he ran against Killary. We all grew up with Donald Trump. No one ever called him a racist in the 80s, 90s, 00s.

Benghazi was the begging of Red Pilling my wife. She’s a captain in the Army... she hates Clinton with a passion.

Would they have given a racist a TV show?
