I remember getting red-pilled about marijuana by the History Channel of all places. I was raised on "all drugs are bad except by prescription." Years later I watched a History Channel program on the history of marijuana out of curiousity. When I learned how congress used a dirty trick to make it "illegal," and how one toke doesn't make someone go crazy or die, I no longer believed it was "bad." Sure it can be used to excess; but that's true of any drug.

4
iamherefortheluls 4 points ago +4 / -0

I think the point of above comment is when modern generation thinks 'hippies' they think Simpson version - silly potheads into flowery dresses and weird music.

But that picture is a product of decades pop-culture looking at those years through rosy glasses.

People who lived through it recall them as more violent thieves and harassers - because whatever the decade, that type of anarcho-revolutionary that just wants to bring the system down, are all the same. Only difference is, no internet back than so the shit that went down wasn't recorded in detail.

6
BasteSpuds 6 points ago +6 / -0

I was horrified when I first learned about the shootings at Kent State back in the 60's. How could the national guard fire upon peaceful protestors like that? After seeing what's currently happening, I'm not longer sure those protestors at KS were peaceful and I suspect they deserved to get shot.

I moved to the USA in the mid-90s (from ex-USSR), saw the rise of marxism here, thought that as a society the USA would outgrow it. Oh boy how wrong I was...

3
BasteSpuds 3 points ago +3 / -0

Why is it the only pro marxists I meet are natural born citizens and those that fled it are anti marxists?!?!? Oh, must be they and their families felt the repurcussions.

2
sub-collector 2 points ago +2 / -0

Tbf, I've met a fair number of immigrants who are also marxists. And unfortunately, the vast majority of immigrants do vote democrat but that's mainly because republicans have failed to woo them as much as democrats did. Just look at all the anti-immigrant sentiment on this board, or any other blowhard-infested board on the internet.

3
BasteSpuds 3 points ago +3 / -0

As Yuri pointed out it takes equally as long to reprogram a population as it took to program it in the first place. They always rear their heads where there's a historical divisions. Hence why you and I are now Americans for different reasons because our families sought better.

Not just right. Spot on. The very tactics being used today, were already used in ussr controlled areas, and other places where communism spread to. China, Vietnam, cuba, Venezuela. If you listen to that interview, it sounds like he's talking about today, but it was nearly 40 years ago.

Based on your comment I'm going to assume it's anti-semitism, and there is a reason that gets downvoted.

13
paradox123 13 points ago +14 / -1

Obviously you haven't read the "International Jew" by Henry Ford that in today's language would be titled as "Globalist Jew. He was not talking about all the Jews and neither am I.

http://www.magtudin.org/Henry_Ford_The_International_Jew.pdf

0
JediDwag 0 points ago +1 / -1

Which is fine, but at that point what does being Jewish have to do with it? If it's not the Jewish race or the Jewish religion that is the problem, why not more accurately define what it is? If it's Globalists that happen to be Jews, then why bring up the fact that they're Jews? You're confusing what the issue is and lumping yourself into a huge group of people who hate Jews for shitty reasons.

It'd be like if you had a problem with murders, and you say some crazy shit about black people. People are gonna be put off by that. You need to accurately define the issue. Is it because they're black or because they're murders? Why not just say you hate murders?

3
Undo1913 3 points ago +3 / -0

Your comment seems to imply that critiques of globalism means all Jews are apart of it (which kinda makes you look racist), or that you believe I’m incapable of differentiating between the actions of a few while not broadly judging all individuals who fall within a categorical group the same way.

Judge each person by the content of their character based off their actions & whether or not those actions align with their stated intentions. That’s how you discern whether people are honest & descent individuals or if they’re self serving liars regardless of background, race or creed.

People need to stop assuming everyone is automatically racist or anti semites already. Very dishonest, condescending & inhibiting.

I’m against communist values & sin, not entire groups of people. Anyone is capable of peddling communist hellhole beliefs that violate everything good about America. The elite communist have a monopoly on people’s minds via the media so that’s a huge problem that I’m going to talk about regardless of who they are. I don’t care if the Virgin Mary owned the media, if she peddled these same lies, I’d exercise the 1A to call out her communist crap too.

0
JediDwag 0 points ago +1 / -1

I actually don't know anything about Henry Ford's opinions, and I explicitly said in my comment I'm making an assumption based on context. I said anti-semitism is downvoted for a reason, not necessary Henry Ford's opinions. Don't don't accuse me of being racist because I don't understand the nuance of an argument that I don't even know exists.

That being said, I don't know the depth of your argument, but at surface level from what you wrote I don't think we disagree.

1
Noticer 1 point ago +1 / -0

What reason?

0
JediDwag 0 points ago +1 / -1

Some people choose to judge people on their individual merit, and aren't into collectivist identity politics.

0
Noticer 0 points ago +1 / -1

Some people choose to judge people on their individual merit, and aren't into collectivist identity politics.

"Noticing patterns is collectivist identity politics."

1
JediDwag 1 point ago +1 / -0

Claiming an entire race / religion is bad is a big generalization and is identity politics. It's literally categorizing people based on an identity.

Call out bad actors, bad ideas, and bad behavior.

Yeah, even with a wealth primary sources people still try to pretend Kyle was the instigator.

13
Yawnz13 13 points ago +13 / -0

At this point it's an ego thing. They're so emotionally invested into the whole "Trump/conservatives wrong" thing that they're willing to go to any lengths to save face and keep from admitting that they're wrong.

3
TubySarbette 3 points ago +3 / -0

Yeah I very much agree. I wonder how much of it is conscious damage control.of their reputation versus subconscious guided by their emotions

4
Yawnz13 4 points ago +4 / -0

You can consciously control your emotions.

As for which, a little hard to tell. A bunch of these people were grew up in the Obama years and were told that everything was awesome and couldn't get worse etc. etc. Those who were already adults thought that it was their time, that they were getting in the ground floor of the next big golden age. All of their biases were confirmed. White people suck. Rich people suck. Old people suck. Conservatives suck. So on and so on.

Then along comes Trump and the 2016 election, which slapped them all in the mouth. Their entire worldview was refuted in a single night. They can't handle this at all because they'd all spent the last eight years circle-jerking themselves about how morally righteous they were. So instead of introspection, they cry foul. They riot. They project. They search for ANYTHING that would prove that the election was stolen. Any little nitpick or pointless contrivance.

Has anyone seen the most recent media story about Trump's personal life? Supposedly his niece, Mary, has evidence that Trump got someone else to take his SAT when he went to Pennsylvania. No one who already has a problem with Trump will bring up the fact that Mary and her brother, Fred III, sued because they felt like they should get a larger portion of their grandfather's (Fred Trump Sr., Donald's father) estate.

Normal people would see that this is likely a load of shit brought on by a jilted grandchild. However, the crazies on the left are just using this as one more smear against Trump and, though Trump, smear us.

1
TubySarbette 1 point ago +1 / -0

Yes, many had a world view that was maybe explanatory in their experience and absolved them of responsibility. It's a hard thing to challenge and I think sometimes the mind can create mental blocks to prevent you. I think that is how people are radicalized or brainwashed. They are repeatedly told false things that satiate a person's desire to explain the unknown and shirk responsibility.

And yeah, it's difficult to tell who is simply uninformed and who is purposely lying to push a false narrative. It's important to approach interactions with both possibilities in mind.

1
Yawnz13 1 point ago +2 / -1

I don't think it was a need for an explanation of the unknown, but absolving themselves of responsibility for their actions was definitely part of it. We can see that in the student loan "crisis".

However, I still personally think that what we're seeing is a group of people who are essentially zealots. They believe that they are morally correct and will do or think pretty much anything in order to justify themselves.

Yuri Bezmenov video... timestamp below to start at 15:34...

https://youtu.be/Y9TviIuXPSE?t=934

This shot is a cut to the audience, immediately pause the clip and look at the guy just to the right of center, partially bald, tan pants, dark blue jacket, light blue shirt, dark blue tie...

Is that a younger 1984 ex-CIA Director John Brennan?

Real or a deep fake?

This same cut to audience shot with the possible young John Brennan is used again at 44:39 and again 55:34 (this last cut seems a little clearer than the first two of these particular audience cuts). Scanned the other audience cuts... NTR.

The clearer 55:34 timestamp below:

https://youtu.be/Y9TviIuXPSE?t=3334

Checked wiki for his dates of employment at the CIA... Brennan started in either 1980 or 81. Recall the Bezmenov video is from 1984... so the timeline fits.

The communists aren't from Russia; they are in China- CCP is the clue.

Russia is a Capitalistic Catholic Country - a lot of C words but communist is not among them; the Russian people were taken over by communists, churches closed, millions killed, millions fled, millions in gulags; it will never happen to Russians again, they are armed.

Russia will be our ally against communism in China, in the US, and the UN. Russia as the big bad boogeyman is propaganda IMHO.
