Best bet is to leave California. Anarchy seems to have gained a foothold there. When the trucking industry stops delivering due to safety concerns it is going to get ugly fast. If you are still there at that point your odds drop dramatically.

Strangely, mace and pepper sprays are pretty unregulated. You can buy some pretty vicious spray on amazon and have it shipped right to your door.

You can also cardy a knife but I would STRONGLY recommend against it if you've haven't had any formal training in self defense.

Also, I'm pretty sure mace is by definition a non-lethal defensive weapon so you MAY be a little safer, legally speaking, than if you deployed a knife.

You may well need to fight, if you are unarmed you likely will lose. The Enemy always operates in herds, you must plan on being outnumbered; cowards never attack you if they think they might lose, they like ambush and pack attacks, like hyenas.

That is your choice. Did you see the guy attacked with a brick in Baltimore? People filmed as a BLM terrorist snuck up on a guy and clobbered him, he was out before he hit the street. The Enemy uses such tactics, you must adopt a defensive mindset of being Aware, always maintain situational awareness. Know your surroundings, constantly run a threat assessment and plan how you will react. Don't be out in public 'stupid', don't use your phone and so be blind to what is around you. Never allow unknown people to close on you, take precautionary measures to avoid them. That won't save you every time but it will help a lot.

But, ultimately you will be victimized if you are near the Enemy. They may block a street or enter the cafe where you're having lunch or accost your Wife as she leaves the store...if you are in areas where they may act so. Only YOU know your situation - act to improve it.

Learn to accept firearms, bear arms as our Constitution demands of honest Patriots precisely to counter the mess we are in today, governmental corruption and tyranny. Carry a bat if you can, bear spray but those things don't work on fentynal and meth heads very well. The guy in Kenosha was tazed twice, kept going. So have that Plan, always, as you walk update that plan, as you drive along update that plan, KNOW how you will react so you don't have to try and figure it out in real time. Have your Wife and Kids, whatever Family/frens are with you, know what to do as well. Make kids understand they can flee to a neighbor or whatever course is best, while you try to hold off Evil.

Your very best defense is situational awareness, but you must be prepared to ACT on that, too. Don't be like the kid in Kenosha, he went looking for trouble and found it, you must adopt the opposite mindset, AVOID the Enemy, plan to not encounter them.

If you must encounter them know always they are Evil, they represent mortal threats every time you see them, plan and act accordingly.

Get a shotgun, carry mace, yeah all that..... but mainly use your wits, THINK.

Good luck and Pray for Humanity.

'Don't be that kid in Kenosha'? His name is Kyle Rittenhouse. He was armed with a rifle, and he defended himself from multiple attackers chasing him, shot only those who posed an immanent threat to him and survived. Kyle was not looking for trouble, but when trouble went looking for him, he protected himself.

He was armed with a rifle he is not old enough to possess.... he did intentionally travel from his home in a neighboring State to the rioting, in defiance of a curfew...he did conspire with others to place himself in the rioting and terrorist activity, yeah maybe with good motives but still he conspired to do all those things then executed the plan.

He was looking for trouble when he arranged for a friend, according to his lawyer, to give him the rifle he is not legally able to possess, he was looking for trouble when he did then travel to Kenosha and set himself up as 'security' in the middle of escalating terrorisms. How the FUCK can you claim he was not looking for trouble?

Sheesh, get so tired of the reddit level 'feelz' running rampant.

His heart might be in the right place but his 17 year old head isn't. I wish him luck but he damn sure did go looking for trouble, every single thing he did proves it.

Don't go looking for trouble, MAGA does not condone violences.

Defend against Evil as you must, sure; once Kyle was engaged he had no choice, fight or die. His extremely poor reasoning up to that point made it inevitable tho, he was going to have to shoot someone. His decision to illegally be there looking for trouble is his Cross to bear.

It would seem you are under the impression that Mr. Rittenhouse was not in legal possession of that firearm. I have read otherwise from his counsel and other attorneys knowledgeable about the law. I guess we will have to wait and see. Lin Wood is not going to plea this out. Charges will be dropped or this will be adjudicated.

Your comments are very emotional, yet you express concern about 'feelz'. Not defending Evil (feelz much?). I am defending the rights of a young man being slammed by ill informed folks who don't even understand their rights, or why it is important for us to defend the rights of others when they exercise them.

Law says 18 to possess the rifle, look it up. No fella or fellette, am not emotional, just realistic. No one is attacking the Kenosha Kid's rights, even tho he violated Societal rulez he has not forfeited Rights.

He violated societal rules? You think that is what he did? You can't be serious. (Are you trolling?) This is a discussion about legality.

If you have an hour watch this, watch it. If you don't, you can get these answers in the first 5 minutes.

Was it OK for Kyle to cross the state line? Was it OK for a 17 year old to possess the rifle?

The attorney on the right is a practicing Wisconsin attorney. He says ... (what does he say?). Get back to me.

"The people of California are supreme and have the unconditional and indefeasible right to protect themselves and to preserve the form of government, which they have adopted against any and all enemies whether they be domestic or foreign; and, it is not only the right of the people to protect themselves and their chosen form of government against attack from all sources, but it is their duty to do so, since they have guaranteed to the people of the United States 'a Republican Form of Government' in this state".
