Fire departments were nationalized as a subsidy to insurance companies. The insurers were tired of paying to put out fires in neighboring buildings.

Security is similar. You have to secure the whole block if you want to secure one house. The free market will find interesting solutions to the security problem.

Fire departments aren’t nationalized. They are municipal by city or county.

National means the entire nation, i.e. Federal government. Nationalized is objectively wrong and it’s stupid to argue otherwise. Language is important.

'Nationalized' means the state owns it regardless of which line you use for the expenditure.
