I made my first handgun purchase, what do I do for a rifle or shotgun! I want a semi automatic shotgun because they're awesome, but realistically an AR is my best bet. Need pede guidance!
If you want an AR right now, build your own. You can order all the parts, stripped lower, 18-inch upper, only need to have the lower sent through an FFL, then put it all together in your own home. Much cheaper too.
Rifle: AR-15 or AR-10. You can get easy-to-finish kit receivers from Polymer80 for at least one of these if not both now.
Additional firearms: .22LR rifle and pistol for practicing. Ruger 10/22 is standard, I would suggest the Browning Buckmark over the Ruger pistol because the Browning is just plain better.
I would suggest finding an old copy of Mel Tappan's "Survival Guns" at a library or used bookstore, and just go to the end of the book to read the recommended arsenals by various gun luminaries. The one that has always stuck with me is Jeff Cooper's recommendations. I always found Cooper to be a blowhard dinosaur, particularly with his "only the Colt 1911 is any good, don't use anything else!" because that gun has so many stupid problems with it that it will get you killed. However, his reasoning for his (other) picks in his arsenal was brilliant.
And because I just *know* some 1911 fanboi is going to come along: go read Blitz308's story of his self-defense shooting over on the AR-15 general discussion forum. Exactly what happened to him is exactly why I have always thought the 1911 was a fucking stupid firearm, since long before it happened to him live and in realtime.
Citadel RS-S1... AR style shotgun and absolutely HAMMERS. Got mine for less than $500. Beware, whatever you shoot with it will not be around much longer, as the slugs I put through it left me laughing with the size of holes it left. NOTE: Your shotty shells will need a high oz of powder (1 1/8th+ oz), as it takes a bit to cycle while breaking in.
Another a similar note: we need a guns.win!

This is exactly what Im doing, already have lower and all parts except BCG because COVID made my fedex package delivery delayed :(
Aero M4E1 blem lower that gundeals loves?
Anderson lower
That PSA KS-47 looks enticing though. Lifetime warranty and the cheapest AR-15 in 7.62x39 that I know of.
Where do I do it and how much info do they require for me to buy it?
PSA is a good place to start. Info? No different than what you put anytime you buy anything online.
What do you think about this one PSA 10.5" CARBINE-LENGTH 5.56 NATO 1/7 NITRIDE 12" SLANT M-LOK MOE EPT SBA3 PISTOL KIT WITH MBUS SIGHT SET & ROMEO 5

Everything is out of stock for 5.56. Do you have another site?
Awesome thank you.
How all mine are built. You can get all the parts right now just hard to find complete guns on the shelf. ππΌπΊπΈ
Decided to do an AR-10 build this year because
Fuck it
Trump sent me Trump bucks
Good luck finding a rifle on the shelf right now
What did you go with? I am really thinking about selling my .30-06 and doing an Aero M5 build.
It also shouldn't be too hard to build a Mossberg 500 fishing rod.
Go with the AR platform, then just slap a .410 upper on it if you want a shotgun! Parts swap out like Legos for adults.
Shotgun: Remington 11-87. Edit: 12ga obviously

That grip safety? I hate it. Just read that post for the first time and I now know why I do.
Just tape a shotgun to the side of your AR, kinda like a canted sight but better.
Do it properly...

Thats fake. Not enough rust on the 870.
