I had the only red MAGA hat in Paris. Went into the Radio France building on election night. Was hassled by "journalists" - who raced to me when Florida was called for Hillary. Except it was only 5% in so far, which the French guy did not understand. He was quite disappointed when I told him he was wrong and I obviously knew what I was talking about.
Had another RF employee flick/hit my hat as she walked by.
Might as well have been wearing your MAGA hat in downtown San Francisco. College-trained urbanites are all the same be it in France, America or anywhere else in the Western world. Rootless cosmopolitan scumbags who follow the narrative. Borders are evil, le Drumpf is literally Hitler. And so on. When it comes to America specifically the conditioning is arguably even worse outside of the US, because we generally just don't know the first thing about America, and only get to hear whatever the media want us to hear about it. We don't have Tucker Carlson and the likes to give us the conservative point of view.
In small towns or the countryside people wouldn't care about your hat. They'd just find it weird, in rural France of all places. At worst they might comment on how the TV told them Orange Man bad but they'd listen to what you have to say.
I'd feel safer in Paris than SF with a MAGA hat. Lived in both cities. Much safer in central Paris. On the outskirts of Paris, being white is a problem. But in the central district you are safer than in SF if wearing a MAGA hat.
I used their Letters a lot before l was married .l made sure all my girlfriends got them & never got a return to sender, although some did not accept letters through the back door .
As for there not being a pro-American sentiment in France, I mean, most people certainly don't hate the US, at any rate. Truth is the average Frenchman is only vaguely aware of whatever's going on in the US, but most of us have a positive opinion of the US and I'm not sure why people insist we're just such chauvinistic ungrateful assholes. Granted those more patriotically inclined tend to be on the proud side but to claim we're hostile towards the US is a gross exaggeration.
Leftists and macronists aren't people so their opinion doesn't matter as far as I'm concern. They hate France first and foremost anyway.
And if it's about some stupid shit like Iraq I mean in retrospect you can't reasonably tell me we didn't dodge a bullet with that one.
I said there was not a very pro American sentiment, thus: anti-american.
All those tourists in Canadian hats? Those are Americans that don’t want to be hassled as a result.
And to claim language barrier is ridiculous. All of Europe speaks English, France chooses not to, simply because of said Chauvinistic and entitled Assholery.
Well to be fair, most French people just don't speak English very well if at all, and confine themselves to the French-speaking parts of the Internet. We're notorious for just sucking at foreign languages in general so, this combined with the fact there aren't that many of us to begin with, it stands to reason you're going to see fewer of us than say Swedes or Dutchmen - or other nations known to do comparatively much better in English.
It's not even a matter of chauvinism, our education system is just atrocious when it comes to foreign languages. I speak a few other languages myself but I'm almost entirely self-taught. This is only beginning to change, with the newer generations faring somewhat better due to their growing up with the Internet, and being immersed in Anglo-Saxon pop culture in general.
About as anti American as it can get: French.
What a fag.
Related: Anyone ever seen a French pede on here before?
See people from all over the world here, haven’t seen one say they were French.

Well you get the idea. Paris isn't exactly the place to be for the patriotically-inclined.
I am not French, but I do love their fries.
I’m partial to their toast.

I'm partial to their kissing
freedom fries are good too
I like their women as long as they come packaged with a Dollar Shave Club razor
Well now you have. What's with some of you people and your hate boner for all things French ? Give me a fucking break.
I don’t hate all things French.
You cannot, in good conscience, tell me there is a very pro-American sentiment in France.
Case in point, you are the first, and I’ve been here a long time.

Never claimed you were hostile.

Ignorance is no excuse either.
