Aussie pede here - no, it’s not just because of his opinion on HCQ. It’s because he has aligned himself with Trump, his party slogan in 2018 was “Make Australia Great Again”. Plus it’s also self-preservation - if he won his case he would bankrupt the state. Of course that still doesn’t make it ok to pass retroactive legislation to try to stop him, but that’s why they’re doing it.

Then there's Queensland's Annastacia Palaszczuk. She's still Labor but watching on the sidelines.

In Melbourne Palmer took out multiple full-page ads in the Herald-Sun telling people that he’s purchased 30,000,000 doses of HCQ and is donating them to the Australian govt so people can have it free of charge - what a champion! But I’m sure if I was one of the tiny number of ppl outside aged care to get the WuFlu I would not be able to access HCQ.
Our constitution is rubbish anyway - doesn’t even give us the right to free speech.
