Don't let your sons give up, pedes.

Proverbs 24:16 - "Though the righteous man falls seven times, seven times he will recover; But when calamity strikes once, the wicked stumble."

11
Monkeybeardontcare 11 points ago +11 / -0

it's important we raise our sons to be strong and good men. I think we're seeing what happened to a nation when men are raised by women only

5
Femprep 5 points ago +5 / -0

I feel like it depends on the woman too. Even if my husband weren't around I'd still enroll my son in jiu jitsu, boy scouts (if they're still a thing when he's old enough?) or something similar. Positive male role models are important. So yeah, depends on the woman. Then again, maybe it's the type of woman that ends up single?

3
Monkeybeardontcare 3 points ago +3 / -0

is not meant to be a slam on women, it means that men have to have good examples of what to grow into

2
Femprep 2 points ago +2 / -0

I probably didn't give enough emphasis on the 'only' at the end there when I read it. It's all good.

over things that were starting to figure out odds how devastating divorce is for kids, especially girls. girls raised in a broken home have much higher rate of divorce than those who didn't. then young boys are without a father when the mom eventually gets av divorce causing a whole lot of even larger problems. it all comes down to the family

As someone expecting their first child soon, I’ve made it my life mission to try and spend as much time instilling American values and being an active participant in their growth. I’m scared as hell, but motivated like I’ve never been before to do the best I can to give them the tools to thrive in life and be as successful as they’re able. This meme is the absolute worst nightmare I could have if I was to fail as a parent.

Avoid public schools like the plague. Limit electronic "distractions" as much as possible and definitely don't do the TV as a babysitter routine.

If you want to go hardcore, start reading Thomas Sowell at bedtime.

14
ntvl 14 points ago +14 / -0

limit tv to sat/sun mornings like you had as a kid.

Limit game time to actual game systems like nintendo switch, none of that ipad junk.. Only give them game time for stuff they do outside of school like piano, extra math studies etc. Give them 30-60 minutes a week on the weekend for it. Good for them and gives you a well earned break.

Next, get them to read early and often, best way to help them grow.

10
MAGA_FL_MAN 10 points ago +10 / -0

Reading Basic Economics by TS 8 years ago was a defining point in my life and helped lay the foundation in my journey in growing in to the person I am today. I own all of his books and have had to rebuy a few that I’ve given away to people who I knew would appreciate his work. Reading is my favorite hobby and I hope to be able to share that love with my child.

6
Femprep 6 points ago +6 / -0

Personally, I'm reading the bible to them at bedtime. They're usually asleep before I get through a chapter. No hidden motives there, I swear!

Femprep 3 points ago +3 / -0

Yeah we've found a collection of animated videos that I use to help the kids understand. I'll be sure to look into the illustrated ones. I use the KJV at night for a variety of reasons, one of which is the sleep aspect. Unfortunately, I've been gifted kids just like me who enjoy staying awake all night.

Helps me keep up on my reading too!

Congratulations on your first! Just had our first and man does it change your perspective on a lot of things.

9
Aambrick 9 points ago +9 / -0

I will give you one as well that comes directly from my Grandparents(they are my adopted parents). Do not ever give your kid an allowance. Make your kid work for the money. It sounds harsh, but that is far better then giving an allowance. It instills a work ethic, and gets them ready for the real world at a young age.

Other than that find people that are similar or talk to people(especially older and elderly married couples that are still together and had kids) for advice for related subjects. It will save you years if not more to learn from them.

6
10MeV 6 points ago +6 / -0

We gave an allowance, but it was contingent on completing the weekly chores list. Not exactly pay, not exactly "earning" it, but sort of. We could have put a price next to each chore, and paid out based on completion... that just now occurred to me, and I think I like it!

3
RighteousViolence1 3 points ago +3 / -0

As a kid we had an excel spreadsheet with every chore listed and it’s value. Each time one of us kids did a chore we marked it down on the spreadsheet. It turned into a competition of who could get the biggest allowance every week. It was awesome for us and I’m sure my parents, who didn’t have to do shit around the house anymore, loved it.

Actually, there is an S.M. Sterling who wanted to give CSOs some genuine freaking nightmares. I don't have the actual novel, but Fandom Wikia is an awesome thing on the internet (which reminds me that I should finish up my planned contributions to Project [email protected])

One of Alissa's only interactions with humans during her maturation process occurred when she still appeared to be a young child, and was traveling in the company of three Series 800 Terminators while moving the Infiltrator's operations to another site. Pulling into a diner for food, she was accosted by a pedophile filmmaker, Clay Radcliff, who attempted to abduct her. Her cybernetic implants were able to overcome the chloroform Clay had attempted to abduct her with when she was isolated in the diner's bathroom and allowed her to terminate her assailant. When his partner Gil came in looking for him, she made short work of him as well before rejoining her squad of Terminators in the diner proper and continuing their journey.

- Terminator 2: Rising Storm (2003; summarized)

Now, I've read the actual novel and Gil was terrified and frozen stiff cracking the door to a public washroom where his partner in crime was dead on the floor in a bloody mess and the little girl was on a stool at the sink washing the blood out of her dress. Broke his neck, managed to set him down quietly and bloodlessly enough that she got dressed and snuck out of the diner with her three full-size terminators, the patrons an owner none the wiser that she was not only a terminator, she was the one in charge. The reason they were in there is because they had to move base and were on the road, and this particular terminator, an I-950, is more like Star Trek's Borg than a canonical terminator, and thus needed to eat.

He was a child rapist: https://web.archive.org/web/20200827203225/https://inmatedatasearch.azcorrections.gov/PrintInmate.aspx?ID=172556 . Independent of any kind of "negligence" or not, he was extremely (or more) evil and wretched.

13

So he died doing what he loved: trying to assault a minor.

3
PawsOfMotion 3 points ago +3 / -0

Boy the left must've hated this one. Every frame of every video shows Kyle doing nothing but stand there. Not a single bit of aggression.

And it turns out the peaceful protesters are all violent criminals. The people they've been romanticizing in the media.

I think that explains why they have gone full retard and now support political executions like the one in Portland.

I just hope the right can hold it together until November. It's an easy victory but they can still be lost if too much counter violence is done from the right etc..

As a parent i have played with ponies, had tea time. As they got older I have played vidya and watched anime with my kids even if I had no clue what was going on, watch some Jo-Jo Bizarre Adventure, I defy you to tell me wtf was going on there. Why would I do this? Because my kids wanted me to participate in what they like. And they participate in what I like. Sure krav maga and range time is slowly being replaced with driving lessons and wanting to hang out with friends and that is normal, healthy part of growing up. My children love and respect me. What I decree they take as law, but I have few decrees. When they were very young I had to use the iron rod, but sparingly and always explained WHY they were punished.

Now my oldest is looking far and wide for schools without diversity requirements. My oldest wants to be an artist, my middle wants to follow my footsteps and serve this nation, the youngest wants to be a teacher who goes against the Marxist grain and brings God into the classroom.

I think we did good.

It's not easy at times, but I have a policy of always stopping what I am doing to answer my son's questions, or help him with something. It can feel like a one way street, where your being walked over. But in reality, you're his Google. And thank God for that.

I answer every question, in every setting, including car trips. It's not easy, but I think it will pay for itself in the end.

That said, the 6 hour trip in the car almost ended in me driving off the Road to the Sun. I'm no saint.
