You are spot on and absolutely right. I think it may take a while for men to learn how to be a good selector though.
For years women had to be the selector. There was no birthcontrol, murdering babies was illegal, so they had to be the selector, otherwise they would end up with a baby and no support! So they had to pick fine men, and used marriage as a tool to find those men. It mostly resulted in a concerned and thoughtful woman pairing with a considerate and hardworking man.
But now women can use sex as a throwaway tool for all sorts of things, without the chains of a human life holding them back. And they are exploiting the years men didnt have to be a selector to their advantage, knowing men are eager.
And it doesnt help that this also lowers the bar of entry for men too. Men had to Impress women more back in the day for sex because of the risks the woman faced if they chose the wrong guy. But now women can compile more short term resources if they have more sex with more men. Long term consequences to health, happiness, etc aside, there are absolutely ZERO short term consequences for women.
But i think as men are raked over the coals more and more as it pertains to women, men will wise up, and hopefully be more selective as a whole. But it will probably be a while.
