I'm not saying they've ever been successful, but we know from Scripture this doesn't reach out to dead people, but demons. This is why they only "say his name" chant people who were truly evil.
Then there's the fact that Jacob Blake had to violate a restraining order just to be there. Plus all the weapons involved.
