I took part in those, in the first few ones in Bordeaux back in late 2018. I was there when one guy blew up his own hand trying to throw one of those teargas grenades back at the police. I didn't take an active part in the riots, I just wanted to see that shit for myself.
Noone I asked knew for sure what they wanted. It wasn't really a political rally, it felt like the silent majority just took to the streets because fuck Macron. Bear in mind people only voted for this granny-fucker because they are politically illiterate and were told that Marine Le Pen was the second coming of Hitler. He was detested by the majority of the population from the get go.
But yeah. It did give me hope. There's still some bite left in us. I feel like all we need is a leader worth his salt, and we might just be able to start the fire that will cleanse Europe. Maybe...
