God doesn't call the qualified, God qualifies the CALLED!

Our president may not be perfect but God is working in his life and we may not be perfect but God is working in ours.

I believe the left is participating in an ego-drama where they write the play, produce it, direct it and who plays the roles. We find ourselves in a classic Theo-drama where God is the author, producer and director. We still have to play our part but it is so much more exciting this way. Look at what happened in 2016. Who could have predicted that?

And to take it further, Saul hunted down and murdered Christians.

Wouldn't it be great if we could change the heart of a leftist one at a time. We all know one. Just one. Keep this list handy when they talk smack about Trump and his personality or behavior. Then make sure you end it with God does not call the qualified God qualifies the called. Then when they scoff at you believing Trump is called by God tell them we are all called. It is who answers that matters. I believe in my heart that is what we have witnessed.

That's the "Paul was a murderer part." I had to think about that one for a second because I couldn't recall Paul killing anyone.

He held their coats when they stoned Stephen. He was Saul who was responsible for turning in Christians (former Jews). He was stopped on the way to do that by Christ who said to him "Saul, why do you persecute, ME"

As Saul, he participated in the deaths of Christians, but you wrote "Paul was a murderer," which, technically, he wasn't. After his conversion on the road to Damascus, Saul was reborn a new creation in Christ, and became Paul. As Saul, he was a murderer, as Paul, he was not. Hence my confusion.

Paul is Saul, Peter is Simon their problems did not go away with a name change.

2

"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here! All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting people’s sins against them. " 2 Corinthians 5:17-19

This is the core message of the Gospel. For you to say that "their problems did not go away with a name change" is a colossal misunderstanding of what it means to become a new creation in Christ. Forgiveness of sins means they are wiped out, and a clean slate is put in their place: "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness." (1 John 9) Paul's name change was symbolic of this new beginning (Simon was always called Peter -- the names are interchangeable). Paul was never a murderer, and even if he was, Paul's repentance and Christ's forgiveness would have erased that mark against him.

They received mercy and were pardoned for their sins. Their sins were already committed. Mercy is God's best thing. His job was to go to communities and turn in Jews who had turned Christian for stoning. He chose that.

And now she bitches about him not being perfect.

2
nwainil [S] 2 points ago +3 / -1

Would she have dreamed it up before he came down the escalator?

3
AsaNisiMAGA 3 points ago +3 / -0

He talked about the possibility of running for decades and he did run in 2000 as a Reform Party candidate so maybe.

1
nwainil [S] 1 point ago +2 / -1

He didn't really answer the call until he came down the escalator. He was like all of the above. He gave in and took the leap of faith.

If you are not answering the call from God or refuse to receive his Son, you are being used by the Devil.

2
TrumpsBigBalls 2 points ago +2 / -0

How does one know they have a call from God?

0
nwainil [S] 0 points ago +1 / -1

You have to get to know him. Read him. Read his words. Read about him. Ask him to guide you. The fact that you ask this and asked another question about hearing his voice should inform you that he is working in you. You are seeking.

Crusty_Pede 0 points ago +1 / -1

You do, it is the same call everyone gets.

For some reason people like to think of God and the devil on equal footing. But remember. The devil was just another angel serving our God. The devil is no where near the same level.

2
nwainil [S] 2 points ago +3 / -1

God is not one of many other things. He transcends being counted with other things. Amazing huh?

God has a plan, but he also gave free will. Each person has to make the choice to follow him or reject him.

You're gonna have to serve somebody Well, it may be the devil or it may be the Lord But you're gonna have to serve somebody

Amen! No one is perfect, only Jesus. If God only worked with perfect people, nothing would ever get done. And that's kind of the point. You don't have to be perfect (because you can't be) to belong to God.

2
nwainil [S] 2 points ago +3 / -1

More than that....you don't have to be perfect to do God's work. You just have to listen and know that it is Him who calls. You have to recognize Him. One way to recognize Him is to remember this: God does not tell us what to think. All God does is continually speak to the truth. Seek truth always.

TrumpsBigBalls 2 points ago +2 / -0

I'm in the process of finding my faith and statements like these don't really help me because I don't understand it "You just have to listen and know that it is Him who calls." what exactly does that mean? I've been trying to hear him for years now.

Maybe you are trying to feel something. Have some ah hah moment. Remember when Christ met with Nicodemus on the balcony. He says the wind blows where is wishes. Take heart. God speaks to everyone. Keep asking him to let his will be known to you and he will answer. God is ineffable. His ways are hard to understand. Keep seeking and reading gospel and he will speak to you. Find sites like WordOnFire.org. There are videos there by Bishop Barron that speak to events of our times and you will find how he finds God in all of this.

The story of David helps put God in perspective.

The runt the litter, chosen and glorified by God, is given every blessing and made King... falls so hard that he has a man murdered so he can have sex with his wife, despite the fact that he had numerous wives already.

What is God's response? He rebukes him, he punishes him, he corrects him, and he restores him.

This isn't a free licence to sin, but God remains faithful even when we don't. Return to Christ and accept his correction.

Amen. Marx was wrong about human nature, we are not all good: God was right, our nature is to sin. Which is why God gave up himself to die for our sins, so we can be with God.

Marx thought man was an economic being, Hitler thought man was an ethnic being, Freud thought man was a sexual being. Their flaw was that man is not any one thing; man is all these things and much much more. Those who claim that White Americans are racist are making the same error. The need to purify our race or nation is eugenics. It was the predominant philosophy that allowed Hitler to start the death camps and Margaret Sanger to convince black leaders that if they purified their race they would succeed. That is how Planned Parenthood began it's march to become an abortion mill. It was originally named The Negro Project. We live in a broken world. The message that comes from those around us is broken. There is only one who will never tell us what to think...God. He only speaks to the truth. His word is available and we need to immerse ourselves in it....especially now.
