I'm not seeing what's so weird about it. It's the most populous state by far so it's going to have the most votes by far. It's behind 6 Dem states +DC and 6 Rep states for largest %margin.
This could have worked in 2016, but Trump has had 4 years to put his people into key places. He's not some wide eyed innocent. He knows who he is dealing with and he doesn't seem worried at all does he?
Hell he even has all the cops on his side now. He has cleaned out the Justice department of Obama era loyalists, including the FBI etc. He has a whole bunch of Republican governors that know if they want to survive they need Trump on their side too.
