Each state has to certify the elections. Some will hold out for the ballot casting, but most won't. Most will certify the election within days.
This is why the Florida governor race was SOOOOO important. Thank God we have Desantis (and other R governors) there. It's not that important if California, Illinois, or NY does it. They will likely go blue anyway.
Nonestly, the popular vote arguement falls apart when you consider how many more EC votes Trump took in '16 vs. Clinton. It's amazing how many people don't understand that your states are the ones casting the vote based on how their residents vote. So if 66% of California residents want candidate X, California sends its electors for Candidate X because the majority of California wanted candidate X. The national popular vote total was just a thing to weigh how the overall population feels, but it was never a factor. In fact, as part of our federal constitution, it was originally ignored entirely.
It also falls apart because it's entirely fucking meaningless. As we always say, we do not live in a democracy. Our system is a constitutional republic and as such, mob rule does not matter. Period.
If we had a popular vote system to begin with, it'd change how people voted. That's like saying that you really won the chess game because you captured more pieces, even though you were checkmated.
Not this year. NY is flipping red. There is no platform to run on against President Trump, he is exactly what this country needs at exactly the time we needed him.
It'll be funny since Trump will likely win the popular vote this time (almost certainly did last time, but illegals voting nixed that...).
Mostly, this is because of the pact that so many states have set up to distribute their electoral votes to the national popular vote winner. It'll be hilarious if all these blue states wind up giving their votes to Trump because of the revisions they made to their election laws.
They won't just claim it, several states have enacted 'national popular vote' type legislation indicating that their electoral votes will go to the winner of the national popular vote instead of the results of their state elections. This will of course be challenge in court as disenfranchising voters of that state, but that's the idea to tie it up in a long legal process and muddy the waters.
Right the problem is in the Midwest states which are key this time they all have Dem governors except Ohio (and he’s a spineless RINO). Not hard to imagine them pulling some BS

Also a lot of Republicans in Cali, NY, Illinois have to know it's hopeless and don't vote

Ah, for some reason I thought they'd reached the threshold. I guess they're not confident enough in Biden to pull in the popular vote.
That's fine. I would prefer that we overwhelmingly win, but I'll take a 'win' in any way, shape or form.

One would EXPECT with the loss of residents in NY, IL and CA that their vote totals would be down. Still waiting on that census result.

If they try that, it is at their peril. It would collapse the country...
I'm talking about some of these RINOS, like justice Roberts.. I don't believe that they want the country to collapse. I could be wrong though.
The left has already demonstrated that they are willing to burn everything down if they don't get their way. That is intolerable.
