I've got volume one lined up for my next read, just finished the fourth turning during this bullshit plandemic.

I started it recently and it is quite the read. Read the forward to get some context and then take your time reading it. I found the information so shocking that I had to take breaks while reading it.

Didn't think about it like that. I wonder how much that British Accent plays into things as well ? I know many leftists think that if you talk with a British accent that it makes you "smart". It is part of the conditioning train beat into them from youth. I think that is why one of the first things they try to beat into you in school is to surrender your natural cynicism and stubbornness, because when you do so you take away another fire wall at such an early age that the rest of the firewall are much easier to tear down.

Makes me glad I have been such a stubborn SOB all these yeas. My leftist mother (who ditched me when I was a baby and only intermittently came back into my life) tried to break me when I was a teenager by trying to get me to accept what her world view was and to do she tried to tear apart my cynicism and stubbornness. She failed, of course, and it burned her ass up bad that she could never break me.

Then again, this is the same dumb bitch who said speaking French makes you more smart.

He also wears glasses, which produces the same effect. And we all know the pedowood elite can afford lasik.

14
M_DMA 14 points ago +14 / -0

They also like Trevor Noah, who was a successful comedian in South Africa who covered that multi-racial society with perception, even-handedness and genuine humour!!! .........................

Then he went to America and became a robotic and divisive operative for the left.

12
vote_for_MAGA_2020 12 points ago +12 / -0

Yep. The glasses, the British accent...literally every detail is planned. The way the outfit looks, the background, the lighting, literally everything is planned and thought out.

Just think, we have Scott Adams more or less on our side explaining how the hypnosis works. There’s an anti-Scott Adams (or many!) that are definitely helping the other side.

The careful planning, the expertise... This has got CIA psy-op written all over it.

Sounds like you've had to deal with some awful shit, pede. Sorry to hear it. Stay strong and try to pass on your wisdom to others and help make our country great again!

I find it hilarious that Americans think his accent sounds "smart". He's from Birmingham, which is the dumbest-sounding accent to us Brits.

RoboChef 21 points ago +22 / -1

Now we have the formula. Can some rich pede bankroll a project to use this formula to create a show that hypnotically trains viewers to think for themselves?

32
Isolated_Patriot 32 points ago +32 / -0

Well to be blunt, no. The formula works for the exact opposite purpose. Training people to think for themselves takes a lifetime, and deprogramming is incredibly difficult. The only surefire way requires trauma. Literally forcing someone to wake up from their delusions and face reality.

Convincing someone of a lie is infinitely easier than convincing them of the truth. The lie can be shaped, colored, and formed to fit into the existing delusions of the mind. The truth cannot. The truth is hard, sharp and pointed.

A lie must be prepared to adapt to the mind.

A mind must be prepared to adapt to the truth.

11
no_step_on_snek 11 points ago +11 / -0

This is actually not accurate. The formula can be used to encourage critical thinking over a long period of time (years, or the amount of time these shows usually run for).

A script writer in the show actually could do it. You address some current events trope in one short segment, do the layout, quip, laugh track, then address something else next but in the script conflict with the first segment. Because the first segment is still rolling around the mind of the viewer, they will acknowledge the conflict, then laugh, thus internalizing the conflict rather than the message itself. The trick is that the quips conflict, not necessarily the facts.

Shows like these usually have ongoing, overarching tropes. After a period of time, work quips in that subtly conflict with these tropes and you can break the conditioning of the method itself.

It requires more talented writing but is possible.

xzibit_b 10 points ago +10 / -0

I think a Trump re-election will be traumatic enough to do just that

13
thepalagoon 13 points ago +13 / -0

As the other reply says: no.

Essentially, this is hypnotism. The best way to inoculate yourself against hypnotism is to understand it and resist it.

Counter hypnosis is still hypnosis

Scott Adams kinda does this with his book Loserthink. What it really does is teach you to recognize themagic trick. Like Penn and Teller for political social media.

This is a very astute observation. Not that anyone afflicted with TDS will ever believe it.

11
fraterggnm 11 points ago +11 / -0

All of this is true. The bad news is the only way we are going to be able to undo the damage that this has caused is to either remove all of this type of telecasting altogether in media or take control of this machinery to use for our own puposes. Sucks to say.

Who's John Oliver?

(just like pro sports, quit watching trash)

If memory serves me, John Oliver is a sewage treatment plant in Connecticut.

If you watch any of these types of shows (Daily Show, John Oliver, etc) you can actually predict when a "joke" will come, It follows a formula. Besides pacing they use familiar tactics of selectively excluding facts that contradict the narrative and/or simply presenting one side of an issue. Or my favorite is Jon Stewart presenting something as fact when it's really opinion like "we all know it's a scientific fact that gun control has proven itself effective". We do? Really? No, we don't. But it's presented an unassailable fact.

I remember when he did his thing on net neutrality and thought this same thing. It's just corporate character assassinations of industries and people who they don't like.

I wonder if people who are Democrats are more susceptible to hypnosis, or are they the ones who are more avid consumers of news & entertainment?

4
eaglestand 4 points ago +4 / -0

I thought I was the only one that noticed the pattern. It became apparent when he started talking about things I did not like and the joke kept going... in a specific time frame.

Accurate description of his garbage show.

4
firstpitchthrow 4 points ago +4 / -0

I realized this about Oliver shortly after the 2016 election. I realized every single one of his segments flow exactly the same way, no variation. Once you know what the technique is, you start seeing through it and you see all the poor reasoning he's using.

I stopped watching his show about 2 years ago.

I may have actually red-pilled my brother about his episode about defunding police. He talks about how police are expected to catch dogs and how absurd that is. In my county it was exactly the opposite: the animal wardens had to bring police officers with them so often when seizing animals from shitty conditions that they made all the animal control officers into police officers. Animal wardens who can also write tickets or make arrests for animal crimes makes perfect sense.

Also right after attending a defund police protest my brother had to call the police about someone fighting then wielding a knife near his house. Still parroted “I wish I could have called a social worker” like a brain dead walrus.

There is a problem with this. Leftist media are absolutely terrible at writing humor. I find it hard to laugh at any modern comedy.

I saw this same thing written about Steven Colbert. Not saying that this Bull but it might apply to all late show shows.

whoscout 2 points ago +2 / -0

Clever. So de-conditioning would be pausing the YouTube video with your liberal friend right after each "argumentation and facts", and ask what they think. It doesn't matter what they say. Then click 'play.' This would break the connection to the 'issue' and instead associate derisive laughter with what your buddy said. Also whatever your buddy said would be different from what Oliver then said. Boom, CAD. Cognitive Anal Dissonance. Funny.

NostalgicFuturist 2 points ago +2 / -0

Audience now reduced to living laugh-track. Big Brother very proud of you, Comrade Oliver!
