They can't legally stop you.

Sure they can, it is private property. I can say you’re not allowed in my house unless you wear pink panties on your arm and thats OK.

Walmart has a corporate policy that explicitly states they can't stop you

They have the right but choose not exercise it for liability issues

Not necessarily. The ADA prevents them from denying business to people because of health conditions and masks cause health issues. That's why their policy is to not do squat. They would be destroyed with lawsuits otherwise. They just want to intimidate people.

Just FYI I’ve seen Walmart call the police on an unmasked person. They didn’t deny them entry but did call the cops. If your city or county has a mandate in place and if your local walmart has a shitty GM then they will do the same.

Which "liability issues' are you referring to?

lawsuits for discrimination. A person could claim they have a HIPAA issue preventing them from wearing a mask while simultaneously protecting them from having to disclose the reason why. Easy win against Walmart.

False equivalency. Wal-Mart is not a private residence and is open to the public. If there is no codified law requiring a mask, you are under no legal obligation to wear it. They have not authority to act like cops, but you have a right to get their badge number, name and supervisor's contact info should they try.

It's private property. They most certainly can tell you to get off it. Why are you even arguing this?

Stores that are open to the public are considered “public accommodations”. They have to abide by civil rights laws, and the Americans with Disabilities Act. Your own private home is not open to the public, so you can make your own rules.

https://civilrights.findlaw.com/enforcing-your-civil-rights/discrimination-in-public-accommodations.html

“At the federal level, the Americans with Disabilities Act prohibits discrimination on the basis of disability in a wide range of places of public accommodation, including facilities that offer lodging, food, entertainment, sales or rental services, health care and other professional services, or recreation. State and local governments must eliminate any eligibility criteria for participation in programs, activities, and services that screen out or tend to screen out persons with disabilities, unless the government can establish that the requirements are necessary for the provision of the service, program, or activity. In addition, public facilities must ensure that individuals with disabilities are not excluded from services, programs, or activities because buildings are inaccessible.”

Thanks. As much as I like to know the loopholes,

I don’t have to wear a mask

Why?

Because I don’t want to. I don’t have to tell you why. Fuck you. This is a free country
