It becomes trespassing as soon as a private property owner doesn't want you there. Businesses have the right to refuse service. "Open to the general public" doesn't mean it's a public building.

Not accurate. We abolished Jim Crow laws because Southern merchants decided not to serve black people. They used the "no trespassing" excuse too

Not if the person has a health condition preventing them from wearing a mask. They would get sued into bankruptcy. That's why stores don't do squat, lmfao.
