I don't have a direct source. I know people who could tell me where to get one if I wanted. From what I can gather, the fake negative ones are sought by people who want to travel, but would otherwise be quarantined at their destination. The fake positives are used to get out of work.
I'm not talking about people faking the results themselves. Just as there are providers who will give people the drugs they request, there are those willing to do tests. All someone has to do is have someone (it could be the medical provider themselves) who doesn't have the virus. Swab themselves and send it to the lab as the patient's. An incorrectly done swab will also likely result in a negative test.
Then there are these labs that were reporting all their tests as positives. So even if you know the sample you give then it's negative there is still a chance for a positive result.
