I believe the sticking point of the monitor is you can't take it off (I might not even be correct about this) but they might be more lenient on how it's maintained on you in respect to comfort and position -- since there's no real reason to deny someone this.

I’d expect her show to have gear that’s been around a while because her show has been around awhile. They don’t tend to have the latest and greatest, because those transmitters are expensive as fuck. And they don’t really wear out because they’re built bulletproof. So there would be no need to buy new stuff. Productions pinch pennies and those transmitters can last a decade.
