I'm thinking that since Hollywood can't produce their normal propaganda in TV and movies due to the quarantine, the Powers That Be Decided to make sporting events the vehicle for their messages. They are willing to destroy every professional league in order to foster more hate, violence, and disdain towards Trump before the election.
