Technically, she might be right. Well, once they find somebody to pay for it all...
A few years ago some libs floated the idea of making nyc a separate state. Everybody outside the city LOVED the idea. Then the people pushing it realized how much economic support comes from outside the five boroughs. Like most of it. nyc is a burden on the rest of the state and to the country.
Time to fix that.
They would NEVER do that because you'd have a bright shiny new red state with what was left after NYC was removed.
That's the consensus opinion. I like the idea myself.
Every Upstaters dream is to have NYC cut off into its own separate state, or slide into the Atlantic Ocean, either way works for me.
One really good hurricane with a 20 foot or greater storm surge and the city becomes untenable. All that tunneling under the city will get flooded. Subways, utility corridors, centuries of long forgotten tunnels will get flooded with 100s of millions of gallons of Atlantic Ocean, and she doesn't like to give things back.
Let's hope.
