BUT, to them and others like them covid lockdown cannot end until the vaccine arrives.

And the Branch Covidans never really examine the fact that this virus, just like its relatives the flu and common cold, will mutate often enough to render any vaccine worthless in months or even weeks.

Absolutely. Not to mention the fact that, even if this vaccine is more effective than any flu vaccine ever has been, it won't approach the 95%+ success rate the human immune system has already achieved! And 95% is really a low number I'm just trying to be generous for the sake of argument.

Exactly. Vaccines for the flu are fucking useless. Use that time and money to make vaccines for cancer, which is far more deadly than the damn flu.

This is the main "gentle red pill" I drop when it comes up at work. Vaccines are likely to be useless at best. There's a reason we don't vaccinate the common cold.
