I'll join in on that lawsuit. I was banned for saying Transgender is a mental disorder and listing a John Hopkins study. Why was I banned? Because it went against their community standards as it could hurt someone who is Trans... Twitter needs to go down either completely or changed to become an open platform again.
can you send the study. I've always been right wing on economics and foreign policy and moderate socially but damn times have changed.
The way i explain my stance to people is we don't give anorexic women gastric bypass surgery and weight loss pills as treatment.
We don't give men that will never be big or strong enough roids when they are already huge from the doctor.
It's all body dis-morphia and not being happy with your own body. There is absolutely no difference between a woman not having a "womanly" enough body, a man not having a manly enough body, man feeling like he needs a woman's body, and or a woman feeling like she needs a man's body.
It's all the same problem with different flavors.
People can't accept reality, being healthy and in shape should be perfectly acceptable for anyone, most people would be considered well above average by doing just that in today's society. But obsession with your body that leads to physical and mental damage is too far. Endlessly searching for happiness, acceptance, or whatever... When "all you have to do" is learn to love yourself. (i realize it's not that easy for these people, but if they loved themselves, as they were born... it wouldn't be an issue) whether it's a man getting new roids and height increasing surgery or a dude thinking if he removes his penis and having breast implants installed will make them feel whole. Nope nope never going to work. At least not for 100+ years, HUGE MAYBE, and i hope we really avoid that immoral route. Everyday i wonder if the AMISH don't have it half figured out. Put me in the woods with no fucking taxes. Leave me alone.
Your sex is genetic and that's that. You can like or enjoy or do whatever you like. I don't care. But if you think you have to change your sex to love yourself of be accepted and or allowed to do the things you love... That's a mental issue.

Denying mental illness and the the guidelines of the APA is dangerous to trans people.
Imagine if it were taboo to diagnose someone with schizophrenia. If doing so got you labeled a bigot and a schizophobe. That you need to accept that they do actually have voices in their head from disembodied people. How insanely dangerous would that be to the people suffering from the disorder, and preventing them from getting treatment.
Even worse, you have to pretend to converse with those voices as well, or else you’re a bigot.
