Remember the toyline from the original Star Wars Trilogy ? Remember the cool ships, figures, playsets, etc.... ? Now imagine the same thing for the Fifth Element. How that never became the biggest sci-fi franchise ever is a crime.
It was a fun, cool, original movie with tons of potential for more stories.
Yeah it had unlimited potential, but having it as a one-off is more special. Hollywood would have bastardized, exploited, propagandized, and milked it like they do with everything else
