The western fan in me wants to imagine this as the scene from a Fistful of Dollars where he calmly walks by and says "get three coffins ready" before quietly putting down the three commies.
I'm not sure that would be the best take for a self-defense claim. I wouldn't want him to "be strung up".
It's almost as good as Bronson's intro in Once Upon a Time in the West where the hit team (3 people) bring 3 horses, and Bronson asks if they brought one less horse.
When it becomes clear the 3 man to kill him, he says they brought 2 more horses than he needs and blows them away.
Also, Manco or Joe or Blondie says, "My mistake. Make that four." after killing one more bandito.
