I think 'country' died when BARF Brooks brought in the Bubble Gum garbage. In one of John Prine's last interviews, he was asked his opinion of 'current' country: it's basically mediocre rock and roll at BEST. It was only posthumously I found out what a HUGE abortion-loving LIB Prine was, still like his music though.

Then there's forcing Mike Huckabee to resign from the Country Music Association board for his 'homophobic intolerance' or whatever SJW crap.

Gimme the OLD classic stuff - Waylon, Willie (though a huge dope smoking lib still great music), Johnny Cash in ALL his iterations, George Jones, Chet Atkins, the Merles - Travis and Haggard; the current practitioners of GOOD music - Vince Gill, Ricky Skaggs, the Del McCoury Band.

De gustibus non est disputandum (there is no accounting for [subjective] taste) but this stuff is unlistenable these days.

I'm Catholic but I think this is funny as hell - Hayes Carll - She Left Me For Jesus.

Johnny Cash had more talent in his middle finger than the current CMA.
