It's like, you don't HAVE TO. You don't HAVE TO give them ANYTHING. What's yours is YOURS. If you choose to share with the less fortunate, that could be a virtue, it could be stupidity, but it's your CHOICE, given by GOD HIMSELF.
Remember when Jesus said "The poor will always be with you?" This is the same guy who was like "Wait up, 5 fish and 2 loaves?! Not today! MULTIPLICATION!!!!" He could have just said "The poor will always all have brand NEW MANSIONS FULL OF DIAMONDS!" and made it so. The point is you've got to earn things, and things being given to you is very nice when it happens to you, but it is by no means your right.
