Fentanyl likely wouldn’t have much demand with other legal opiate alternatives. Regardless, overdose deaths would plummet because people wouldn’t be mixing Fent in with other drugs in a mixing bowl in their kitchen sink.
Fair point, but consider that meth is already widely available in all 50 states anyway. There already are millions of people using these drugs, today. I don’t think legalization would encourage use, if real responsibility and education were a part of the deal.
We’ll probably never know, though, as we will undoubtedly double down on failed drug policy.
I would also add as an alcoholic myself, that I disagree with your assertion. Alcohol, for me at least, brought me to the brink of death and destruction of everything I hold dear. I say that without hyperbole.
I agree that some drugs ought to remain illegal - heroin, meth, crack. Mainly because their is a much higher risk of societal problems incurring through the use of those drugs.
Other drugs such as weed, mushrooms, LSD, steroids, I couldn’t careless if someone were to use, as they aren’t going to cause societal problems, problems to individual perhaps, but that’s not my problem.
Frankly, alcohol fits closer into the first category than into the second. You never here of stoners fighting in the streets unless it’s over who gets the last Cheeto.
I think we need to remember that regulation is just another funding mechanism for the democrats. Also, these "tough" drug laws were bought from politicians by Chinese Druglords, so basically they are a funding mechanism too. They do nothing without the requisite funding flowing. All of us need to remember that we are trying to envision a Free America, and the cancerous socialism tumors begin with regulation.
All drugs should be legalized and regulated and the DEA should be abolished.
But still Biden is a junkie.
Fentanyl?

I don’t want them driving drunk either, and it’s perfectly legal to acquire alcohol.

Today, I am sober and thankful for that everyday.
How does making those drugs legal make someone take those drugs? I’m not pro legalizing meth, or crack either, but a better argument could be made.

I meant regulate production for purity and such.
