I'd believe Trump has broken the law back in his day. Bribes, mostly. Greased some palms to win a bid or to have some people look the other way on inspection to not miss a deadline, but they'll have it right in a few days. Stuff like that. That said, I think the outsider being necessary is in regards to China making many of our electronic devices for years. How easy would it be for the CCP to put backdoors and vulnerabilities into these devices then gather dirt on politicians? Not obvious backdoors, like shit being sent to [email protected] or something. Layers and layers of plausible deniability that the information works its way through and eventually winds up in CCP hands. If the vulnerability gets sniffed out, patch it and move on. Not to worry, we'll buy thousands more of their phones, routers, modems, and computers and they keep monitoring texts, calls, emails, and so on.
The CCP wouldn't waste their time gathering dirt on outsiders, even if they had money to influence politicians. What's the point? Who's a politician going to listen to: the wealthy Americans who donated a bunch of money to their campaigns or people who will expose, saaaay, their sordid pizza-related affair? To people like congressman and senators, hell even Obama a couple million is a big windfall. But Trump is different, he’s already got money.
