I was thinking about this one recently and noticed something: nobody cared about all these problems in smaller doses in these areas. It's like they just refused to see it for decades.
In my area at the absolute height of the heroin crisis, people never really were openly using like you hear about in the liberal strongholds. This may sound provincial, but I've never actually seen someone inject drugs ever. Sure--people OD'ed in public, but the actual shooting up was always just out of sight. You'd be arrested or stopped or something otherwise, I guess. Donno: have literally never seen it happen. I can't even imagine just walking by someone doing that and not even saying something. Yet apparently the most many people in a lot of these cities can do is shake their heads and bitch on social media--literally not even bothering to try to find political solutions or donating to charity or anything.
Not saying they shouldn't put a stop to it now, but the culture sorta degraded to the point where the step from where they were to where they are wasn't very big.
Democrats are murdering Republicans in broad daylight, and the DA refuses to press charges. We'll be seeing people injecting in broad daylight soon enough.
We've passed the tipping point, and whether Trump gets re-elected or not, it is going to get so much uglier than it is now, we can't even imagine it. And what we're living through right now is something we couldn't have imagined in January of this year.
We're at the point where hard times create strong men. And 2nd term or no 2nd term, we can't rely on Trump forever.

And they'll vote them all in again. You get what you deserve. I wish there was a way to make them live there in perpetuity so that the consequences are borne by them. They'll just move on to a red area and vote for the same garbage again. Ugh. I'm so tired of it.
