NOT sticking up for Pelosi. But this doesn't pass the small test. If the stylist is telling the truth and she ultimately ok'd the appointment . . she needs to sit down and be quiet.
Salon owner oking the appointment doesnt absolve Nancy of violating shutdown/mask mandate as well as her comments that it was "set up" - comments which led to trolls attacking the owner's Yelp page and threatening her. Salon owner will be in shit for operating the store ignoring the shutdown mandate. But she also has a cause for damages to be recovered from Nancy's comment that it was "set up"
Like I said in another comment, if the second part of the letter is true - and they have been doing "solo" appointments, no matter the number, and the owner herself has done it . . . then Pelosi is just another solo appointment. If doing solo appointments is violating a mandate, that's another story. Similar to gyms being closed in NJ (up until 9/1) - you could schedule a solo training session, but the gym itself was closed.
Imo, even if the owner has done solo appointments, thats a separate issue involving the salon business and the local salon regulator, and Pelosi blaming the salon owner for the "setup" resulting in the hate and negative reviews she got is another issue.
The first issue, the owner violating local laws likely gets a fine or worse has to close the salon down. The second issue Pelosi has defamed and lied about being "setup" and damaged the reputation of the salon and the owner. Damages arise here.
At this point it all comes down to whether the owner really wants to pursue this. I wont be surprised if she doesnt - not many people have the willpower and money to take on someone like Pelosi, who lets face it is much more influential than the salon owner
