I was being made fun of for speaking up against the destruction of the Nuclear Family and mentioned that all your data is public and can be linked to any inappropriate accounts one may have. I kept getting the generic "stop spreading mis information" so I did a quick google of their name and their home address was literally sitting right there in front of me. I showed them their data and freakout ensued.

It's not difficult to prevent that. Be sure you have two-factor authentication enabled on login. It can be a pain sometime, but it's effective. Try to use an authenticator app, rather than a text message.
Also, set up all of your accounts to immediately alert you of any activity. Someone got my credit card info a few months ago, but I got a text message at the moment they tried to use it and I blocked the card from further use within minutes.

Yeah this is great advice in general for online use, but never tell them your name, what city you live in, your family situation (how many kids you have, your parents, your spouse ect) where you work, where you go to school. Also never post pics of yourself or pics that give clues to where you live or give clues on how to ID you (including your vehicle, prominent pic of your home, visible tattoos ect)
Also beware of the people trying to give away stuff like free stickers and campaign material, supposedly only needing your address to send it right to you for free.

If you use maga.host, it removes all EXIF data during the upload.
I don't know about any other image hosts.
Imgur says they do, and historically has. But I don't think it's wise to trust them.
I haven't done so with imgur, but I confirmed maga.host removed the EXIF data before I posted the link to an uploaded image.
The Preview app on MacOS can display the EXIF data in an image. I presume Windows has something similar.
