If someone should knock on your door asking to pick up a ballot, tell them to hold on while you go and grab it and come back with your phone camera recording you asking for their name, group, association, etc. Post it everywhere.

Primary way he describes they do that is intercepting the mail, steaming envelopes to open and replacing the ballots.
Apparently in many places, the ballots have zero protections on them and can be printed by any copy machine - the only safeguard is the special return envelope. So anyone who has 10 minutes with it, can open and replace your vote.
According to NYP story, they either convinced people to give them the ballots to mail in (ballot harvesting) or they bribed postal workers. And apparently it takes 5 minutes for 1 person to carefully steam open the envelop and do a replacement. Working in teams they can shift thousands of votes.
There needs to be some way to verify not only that you voted, but that your vote was indeed counted for the candidates you selected.
So much this. I fear Trump not holding the line on mail-in voting is conceding that civil war is inevitable. The system was solved and successfully gamed. Even if he catches thousands of people cheating red handed, streamed on video, it doesn't matter to most people anymore. There are 100s of ways to cheat. What we are talking about here is a way to help guarantee your mail-in vote was counted, you are checking that there is a record of your ballot. A Detroit Clerk is charged with several felonies for tampering with these records (you don't vote, she makes a mail in ballot, then updates records showing you sent it in.) She was caught becusse there were records.
You mail-in ballot could have been lost, destroyed, burned, in the mail, your going in in person makes that harder to do.
We have the technology to make sure that each person only votes once, that only living people vote, and that they're citizens. People could vote online from the safety of their homes, or even from other countries as long as they were citizens. And we could know the result of the election the very second the last person hit submit.
Heck, if Google started working on it today (and wasn't evil), they could have it good to go well in advance of the election. Infuriating that we're being dragged through the least secure method of voting possible.
Trump just activated a "denial of service" algorithm. He says vote in both places and let them sort it out. He will overwhelm their fake system. It will be much harder to separate the D votes from the Rs and throw the Rs in the trash. It will be twice as much votes to count, twice as many to stuff in cars and trucks, then find under awnings in someone's garage (y'all remember that right?)

I'm planning on keeping my mail in ballot and if I can't vote in person, then I am driving to my county election place where I can drop off my mail in ballot myself.
This is a way of checking to see whether polling places are letting people vote both by mail AND in person.
The President is saying:
If you sent in a mail-in ballot, you should still go in person to the actual polling place on Election Day.
See if they will still let you vote.
If they say, "No, your vote was already received by mail so you cannot vote again," then at least they aren't letting people vote twice.
If they say "Sure, here's your ballot, go fill it out at that little table over there," then you know they are either dishonest or hopelessly screwed up.

There is no chain of custody for mail-in ballots. But if you legitimize those documents these people will actually become persecuted by the state for "fraud".

If the mail in vote gets tampered with, your in-person vote will be counted.
