Depends. The RT-PCR tests won't since it matches a specific sequence of the viral RNA, but these tests take a long time to run since you have to wait for the chain reaction (hence Reverse-Transcriptase Polymerase Chain Reaction).
The worst ones are the antibody (IgG/IgM) tests. Since coronaviruses share similar proteins, if you've had a cold that was caused by a coronavirus and get the antibody test, you'll show up as positive.
What's really been annoying me lately is the panic caused by the media reporting "proven" reinfections caused by SARS-Cov-2 even though there's absolutely no solid evidence I've seen in any study supporting this claim. In fact, I read a study not all that long ago that people who were infected with SARS-Cov (the original flavor SARS) betwteen 2003-2005 can still generate antibodies that effectively neutralize the infection up to 17 years later.
Literally all the news about COVID-19 is designed to cause panic even though the evidence often shows otherwise.

There was that one company that allegedly had developed a PCR that could be run in less than 10 minutes, but I'm not sure what happened after the briefing POTUS had announcing it.

Yeah I'd argue it wasn't always known as a scam. There was massive uncertainty and fake news in February / March of 2020 - Trump shut down air travel, media said it just a flu "Drumpf is muh xenophobe!", China didn't share literally anything about what the virus was, how it behaved, how dangerous it was, etc, and the WHO in their famous tweet said it wasn't even transmissible to humans. Then, weeks later, images out of Italy and Iran of hospitals at over capacity with boomers dying left and right, supply chains shuttered, China's manufacturing closed down, etc, enough imagery and action to drive fear into the most sensible of people.
There was absolutely a time where it wasn't evident this was a scam, and many people with a brain heeded and took caution from the resulting events. Today, in September of 2020, obviously is a VERY DIFFERENT story. We can see that we were clearly manipulated, lied to, abused, and censored all in a logical power grab by the Left using the virus as "never let a crisis go to waste". The fearmongering is off the charts since increasingly all year we have solid proof that the death count was incredibly inaccurate at the start, the virus does NOT behave the way China made it out to be, and it doesn't even spread the way the "media" and "medical" professionals reeeeee'd it would.

I think a lot of people underestimate how viruses tend to jump in lethality as they mutate. Two separate strains at the start, one in Italy the other in Washington state. Italy, lots of deaths, Washington state, barely any. Italy really did have a 10% death rate at the start, and in the end the U.S. only has .1%> and now even lower after CDC update. Either something changed in the virus makeup or China really did pull off the most convincing CCP hoax of all time.

This is true for life. How many times have you tried to tell your friends and family something and have them outright dismiss you? I had the test and it was pretty half assed. I don't think the woman did it correctly. She swabbed my nostrils but didn't go way up inside like I have heard about. The precautions at the facility were pretty lax also. I have seen stricter protocols at the grocery store and the Chinese restaurant up the street from me.

Nobody should get tested. The tests are 50-60% accurate. Just flip a coin.

If you played rock/paper/scissors with the person administering the test instead, you would've gotten equally accurate results.

This is the reason for the amplification mentioned in the video - even if it's not a good swab, if there is any COVID in your nose, it should be amplified to produce a positive test. This is all an exercise in sensitivity and specificity.

The numbers have never looked right and the amount of totally un-sick positive tests I've heard about well outweighs the ones that had any symptoms.
What bugs me about the whole situation is not that everything that happened at the beginning, back in March and April when Trump was addressing it daily. It was clearly something that was taking enough of a toll on the world that it needed to be addressed and we had little info and some things even with good intentions would turn out to be wrong.
The bad part is we've failed to learn and adapt. Once all these places realized the power of fear they haven't let up. No matter what facts or revisions to previous beliefs come out, the only choices seem to be discredit them or use them to restrict things more.
