Yes she keeps harping on this idea that "we spend the most money on healthcare sector, we have worse quality of outcomes than other developed countries, and we're the only non socialized healthcare developed country." And I challenge that idea and I'm like "yeah we have worse quality of outcome because we don't cherry pick who to treat like other countries do. If you seek treatment you likely get it. Other countries will just let you die in the parking lot or spend months waiting for treatment. My favorite is ACA was implemented to drive down costs. The very next lecture "oh by the way healthcare costs are rising per capita every year" I THOUGHT YOU JUST SAID ACA DROVE DOWN COSTS. THAT CLEARLY DIDN'T HAPPEN... I could go on and on but I don't want to write a book right now
Also tell her that other countries that have socialized medicine looked at the ACA and said WTF is that? My health insurance before ACA 550/mo after 1200/mo now i have none. good luck.
Right, what happened is you got poor people on healthcare but put the burden on the middle class which in turn priced them out of the market. Ultimately it was a failed act that fundamentally did everything against it's objective. Higher prices, less people with insurance.
The economics of healthcare = normalization of government run health services. Lecturing about things that don't exist makes them exist. Take a psych class covering forms of manipulation.
What's that like?
"Everything should be free because rich people have money. Congratulations you all get A's."
